Welcome to ISLANDS - a "boutique" art gallery located in the heart of Deer Isle, Maine, featuring the watercolors of Diane Kirk. Located in the village between the ice cream parlor and the Deer Isle Artists Association Gallery and across from the Post Office and the Pilgrims Inn and Whales Rib Tavern, we join the Lester Photography Gallery and the Red Dot Gallery as well as The Periwinkle and Sophie's Cup to bring an eclectic mix to Main Street, Deer Isle, ME.

My husband and I have opened up the front portion of our home as a tiny boutique gallery. When you step into ISLANDS you notice the wonderful light coming from the fabulous view of Northwest Harbor in the wall to wall windows at the rear of the open space.
We are fortunate to have the exquisite wood carvings of Bob Marville in our Gallery. He is a local artisan who has lived in Blue Hill for over 25 years and is a well known and much respected member of the community. His authentic carvings must be seen to be truly appreciated and his feather pins (brooches) will add a touch of whimsy to any outfit.
Another artist who creates exceptionally beautiful work is BJ Heller who hails from coastal North Carolina. She works in copper and incorporates natural stones into her jewelry. Each piece is unique and may be hammered, heat stressed or have a patina finish. Many of her earrings have designs that remind us of the sea, featuring seagulls or starfish and some necklaces are created with matching earrings. Some of her latest designs feature hearts and pearls. Bracelets and brooches have been added to this talented artist's selection of unusual one-of-a-kind pieces.
End of the Day 11x15 Sold
Original Watercolor by Diane Kirk $175
This is just one of the fabulous sunsets we see from our deck at the rear of the gallery. Each evening seems to be more spectacular than the last as the sun sets over Northwest Harbor, ME.
You will also find hand painted glasses by Natalie, packs of notecards of local scenes, art cards and prints from Diane Kirk's original watercolors. One of a kind "treasures of the sea" wreaths fashioned from mussel shells, sea urchins, driftwood, sea glass and float rope are created each year. We even sell the driftwood easels used to display some of the artwork!
When we close our door at the end of each day we sit and watch the glorious sunsets over Northwest Harbor and reflect on our good fortune to be in one of the most beautiful spots in Maine and part of the wonderful community of Deer Isle. We invite you to come visit us.
